Summer Beach Travel/Packing ideas tips and tricks

Who’s headed to the beautiful sand? I know we are! As most of you know the beautiful Gulf Coast is where I was born and raised! Originally from Fairhope, AL we played all along those sugar sand beaches as a child and one of the many things I learned was how to be efficient! This week’s post is about packing, planning and activities for kids on the beach!

If you are anything like our family we absolutely love spending time along 30A and in Orange Beach, AL. As a child we had a sailboat and my parents bought a dingy (inflatable boat with a 25hp motor) and would tell my brother and I to catch dinner! What was amazing about Destin at this time Crab Island was always empty (now is a vacation party spot) and easy to bring home fish and if you had time to get in the grass beds you could find shrimp and crab! Most of the time we brought back some great dinner options but sometimes it was a good old bowl of cereal! Those were the days!!!!! Living on a boat for the weekends you had to pack pretty light and only bring what you need. So here are my tips and tricks to packing for the perfect beach vacay!

1. I love to pack PB&J(freeze it the night before so it’s good and cold), grab a Pub Sub (Publix Italian with all the banana peppers and such) for the adults.
2. Individual bags of chips! Nothing worse that taking a bite of sand from everyone’s hands getting into that bag!
3. Peanut butter crackers
4. Frozen grapes
5. Watermelon
Anything in an individual wrapped bag that can not melt is generally pretty good!!

As far as what to put into your bag for the kids! I buy these to help with organizing items and keeping them from the sand as best as possible!

BEACH ACTIVITES
These organization bags are perfect to put sunscreen, goggles, books, and all the items listed above!!

I bought this sand blanket 3 years ago and I have never looked back! It’s really big and it also is made of like a parachute material so it’s easy to clean, dries quickly and packs up super small!!!

Fans for me are a MUST! Although the beach breeze is awesome sometimes I need just a little more to cool me off!

-We love to take our watercolor paints and book Click here! We also love to paint sea shells if we do not have our watercolor pad! The artwork that comes home from the “Paint what you See” is AMAZING!

-Sandcastles the trick to the best sand is to take the sand bucket and mix sand and water to get the perfect consistency! I will say I’m a big turtle advocate so make sure you fill in all the holes before you leave the beach! Those sweet little babies get stuck! https://amzn.to/3xaFbf1 Here is a link for a great collapsing set!

-Surfer Dudes Click here! We absolutely love playing with these in the surf!

So I am sure you all are wondering about the meat tenderizer…. So many times I see kiddos get stung by jellyfish! Use this powder and rub on the sting and after a few minutes you will be good to go!

I hope all of my tips and tricks for your beach day are helpful!! Hopefully we will see you in the sand! Happy Summer

XO,
Amanda
